Introduction
During the late antiquity, after the fall of Rome, some northman folks acquired some of the mores and cultures from the mediterranean. You are a patriarch of a clan, and need to make sure the families will survive a year on this new land, totally different from what they saw back in the North.
Tutorial
Controls
Use WASD to move the camera aroud, the mouse scroll to zoom in and out, Q to slow down time and E to speed up time.
Resources
To survive you need to accumulate resources so you can go through the winter, in the top right corner you have a display that shows you how many resources you have available. Exploring too much a source will wear the resources from it.
The resources are:
- Food
- Wood
- Faith
Food: Your villagers need to eat twice a day: by the morning, before their work, and by the night, before they sleep;
Wood: Your villagers need to keep them hot by the night and, at the winter, by the day too, to do so they burn wood;
Faith: Your villagers need faith to keep gathering resources, faith also affects positively how much resources they collect;
Occupations
To collect resources you need to assign occupations to your villagers, in the top left corner you have a display that shows you how many villagers are assigned to certain occupation, click it to open a box where you can assign their occupations, the more a villager is assigned to an occupation, the better he will become at it.
The occupations are:
- Idle
- Fishing
- Hunting
- Gathering
- Lumberjacking
- Priesthood
Idle: If a villager works too much (s)he becomes tired and needs a rest, being idle for a day or two;
Fishing: Collects less food than hunting and more than gathering in an average amount of time;
Hunting: Collects more food than everyone else, but, it also takes longer;
Gathering: Collects less food than everyone else, but it also takes lesser time;
Lumberjacking: Collects an average amount of wood in an average time;
Priesthood: Makes a sacrifice of resources at every morning and increases faith, not having enough resources to sacrifice will result in faith loss;
Social Roles
The villagers have different social roles that affect how much resources they collect and how much they consume.
The social roles are:
- Male
- Female
- Priest
Male: Better at hunting, fishing and lumberjacking, but are quite bad at gathering;
Female: Better at gathering, slightly worse at fishing than males and quite bad at hunting and lumberjacking;
Priest: The only one who can do priesthood, all others aptitudes are like males, but handicapped;
The patriach dashboard
At every night you'll have a summary of what happened during the day, for example, how many villagers are dead, how much resources you have collected from each source, etc.
Seasons
As the year go by, the seasons also come through, the seasons affect how much resources your villagers consume and how much they collect, in the top center you have a display that shows how many moons have passed and in which season you are on.
Spring: The most fertile season, your villagers gather more and consume an average amount of resources;
Summer: It's hot, your villagers almost don't need fire and they eat less, also really good to collect resources;
Autumn: It's getting cold, there is less resources around to collect and your villagers eat more and need more fire;
Winter: It's cold outside, there is no resources around, so your villagers stay home, eat more and need more wood to keep warm;
Features to come:
- Eventual bug fixes.

Not playable right now? i can just use the time + and - but thats all.
Click the scene and you can move the camera around with WASD, use the mouse scroll to zoom in and out, click in the top left corner item to set the villagers' functions.
But, yet, it's not playable, it consumes more resources than you can produce and the faith system is not implemented (i'm sorry, the game was made for the Extra Credits Game Jam 3 in 100 hours), but, soon I'll be updating the game to fix these things
The game is now playable, you can take another try if you'd like.
i will check that, i want make a gameplay video ;)
The game is way more enjoyable now, if you wanna try
